Deupree House has it the ground running in 2014. Here’s a peak at what premier senior living in Cincinnati looks like.
Tuesday, January 7
7:30PM: Jazz Concert
Residents who attended the Art in Ault last May thought they knew just what to expect from The Eastside Jazz Quartet, but these four gentlemen still managed to blow us away.
This local group has played venues all over the city—and now they’ve played at Deupree.
The halls of our community were filled with the sounds of all our jazzy favorites like Autumn Leaves, Take 5, and Girl from Ipanema all evening long!
Thursday, January 9
7:15PM: Transportation to the Aronoff Center
The “best musical of this century” is in Cincinnati, and Deupree House will be there for the first week.
Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Cincinnati is bringing the nine-time Tony award-winning musical The Book of Mormon to the stage at the Aronoff Center. Get your tickets now. The show closes January 24, and you don’t want to miss it.
Who knows, maybe you’ll see us there! It’s been such a great start to 2014, and there’s so much more yet to come!
Saturday, January 11
7:15PM: Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra
Resident Symphony ticket-holders are in for a very special evening tonight at Music Hall. The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra will be welcoming back pianist Hélène Grimaud for a reprisal of her captivating 2007 performance of Brahm’s turbulent Piano Concerto No. 1. And we’ll be wishing Music Director Louis Langrée a very happy birthday as he rounds out the program with Beethoven’s joyous Symphony No. 8.
Sunday, January 12
6:30: Sip and Sup
With such an overwhelming response to the Holiday Sip and Sup last month, we’ve decided to make this gathering a regular monthly event! Now, Deupree House residents will be able to gather together once every month for a community-wide evening of fine foods and socialization with friends in the Club Room.
Tuesday, January 14
7:30PM: Sophisticated Investing in Today’s U.S. Economy
Deupree House will be welcoming Timothy E. Johnson, Ph. D, for a lifelong learning lecture that will offer a detailed look at the best practices for investing in today’s uncertain economy.
As Chairman of the Board of Johnson Investment Council Inc., Professor of Finance at the University of Cincinnati, and a registered investment advisor with the SEC, Dr. Johnson has experience managing over $6 billion of invests funds— it’s definitely a night that not to be missed for any resident considering investment.
Saturday, January 18
7:15PM: Transportation to the Aronoff Center
Residents will have the opportunity to take the shuttle to Music Hall for the final performance of “Shakespeare and Legend” by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. We’ve heard that the eclectic artistry of “maverick” violinist Pekka Kuusisto makes it a program that’s not to be missed.
Wednesday, January 29
7:00PM: Fun around the Piano with Jack Doll
Tonight in the Club Room, Deupree House will be hosting a very special guest— the famous Jack Doll. Well-known around town for over 30 years of lively and often humorous organ playing at the Cincinnati Reds games, residents will recognize him as the pianist at our own Saturday Night Bistro Dinners!
Residents are in for an evening of laughter and song as Jack leads us in a totally unscripted bit of after dinner fun around the piano.
Every Friday
10:00AM: Kitchen Tour
The Dining Room at Deupree House has always been something more than a place to eat.
Our Dining Services Manager, Pete Juszczyk, and his team work hard to turn every meal into a dining experience. They work so quietly behind the scenes that many residents have begun to wonder what magic goes on behind those closed kitchen doors to make everything run so smoothly.
Well, now they have the chance to find out.
Starting this month, Deupree House will be starting a new weekly event. Once every Friday, Pete Juszczyk will take 10 residents on a tour of the kitchen, so they can see for themselves just how it is that all of our wonderful meals are prepared and our servers provide such quick service.
