Deupree House's Premier Senior Living Blog

Meet the Deupree House Team: Chloe Hough, Tarrah Pickard, Gini Tarr & Anthony Williams

All ERS team members, not just at Deupree House but also at other ERS flagship communities, strive to ensure our residents feel like they're being cared for not by expert professionals but by people who seem like family. One way we accomplish this goal is by creating opportunities for residents to build close relationships with staff. What you may not realize is that this process starts long before move-in day, with unique events designed to show seniors what our community is all about.

Lunch & Learn, for example, occurs a few times a year and gives individuals who are interested in living at Deupree House a chance to learn what role that different staff members will play in their care—all over a delicious lunch. Guests literally get a taste of what it is like being a Deupree resident. The event also gives interested parties a chance to ask questions and learn more about what it’s like to live at a continuing care retirement community.

If you missed this month’s Lunch & Learn, don’t worry. You can “meet” several members of the Deupree House staff below!

Deupree House’s Bill Victor Remembers Battle of the Bulge

Editor's Note: This blog was originally published on May 26, 2017 and has been updated with information about other Deupree House and Cottages residents who have served in the Armed Forces. We thank you for your service!

In his study at the Deupree House senior living community in Cincinnati, Bill Victor produces a copy of a Veteran’s Day speech he made at the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County in 1999 — the 55th anniversary of his Army division’s deployment to France.

“Most of you represent those who have made the same ‘down payment’ on freedom that we have,” he wrote. “Remember, it’s just a down payment. Our freedoms have to be paid for on the installment plan — they aren’t permanent and they aren’t free.”
