Happy Holidays from Deupree

Already this month, Deupree House has taken part in a bevy of wintery activities—including the opening of a brand new art exhibition and a special holiday performance from our Bistro pianist Jeanne Phillips.

And we have so much more planned for the rest of December.

Here’s an inside look at the action.

Sunday, December 15

5:30PM: Sip & Sup

The Sip and Sup is back! Deupree House residents gather together again this holiday season for an evening of fine foods and socialization with friends in the Club Room.

Monday, December 16

7:30PM: Forest-Aires Christmas Program

Our residents will have the opportunity to enjoy an amazing performance—and do some good for the community. The women of the Forest-Aires will be putting on a holiday extravaganza in the Event Center.
This ladies chorus is well known for their joyous performances and their charity. Every year the Forest-Aires sponsor a scholarship program that funds voice lessons for the next generation of performers in Cincinnati.

2:00PM: Resident Design Consultation Meeting

4:00PM: Resident-Staff cocktail party

12:30-5:30PM: Shuttles to the Esquire Movie Theatre

At Deupree we know that, sometimes, there just isn’t anything that can beat surround sound, the silver screen, and a tub of movie theater popcorn. That’s why, every month, residents can enjoy a day at the movies with our shuttle service back and forth between one of Cincinnati’s great local cinemas.
Residents who are interested in taking in a show can always find the moving listings in the sign-up book five days before the trip.

7:00PM: Knox Presbyterian Christmas Concert

Knox Presbyterian right here in Hyde Park does Christmas in song and style.
This season, the fellowship will be hosting the Cincinnati premieres of Vaughan Williams’ joyous “Hodie” and Mendelssohn’s Christmas Cantata, “Vom Himmel hoch” (”From heaven above”)— with Earl Rivers conducts the Knox Choir, Cincinnati Children’s Choir, soloists and orchestra— for its annual Christmas concert.

Sunday, December 22

Deupree House is dining out! Our community will have the opportunity to experience a new take on old world cooking dining at Metropole in the new 21c Museum Hotel on Walnut.
Chef Michael Paley’s American cuisine restaurant features an ever-changing menu of hearth roasted meats, fish, vegetables, grains, and house made charcuterie— and first-class service. Residents can order an appetizer ahead of time and have it ready-to-serve at the time of our arrival.

T’was the night before Christmas and all through Deupree House all the creatures were stirring! This evening is our amazing Christmas Eve dinner—definitely not to be missed. It so popular, in fact, that we need to hold two separate seatings at 4:30 and at 6:30.

Tuesday, December 31

Here’s to a great 2013 and best wishes for 2014!
