We’re excited to share that Episcopal Retirement Services (ERS) has been named a Top Workplace for the 17th year in a row by The Cincinnati Enquirer and Energage! This honor would not be possible without our incredible team members. Their passion, innovation, and dedication to serving older adults have made us the region’s only senior living organization to be recognized every year since the award’s inception.
Meaningful Recognition
The Top Workplace award isn't decided by a panel of judges. It's earned through anonymous feedback from our team members, measured across nearly 30 culture drivers, including aspects like purpose, trust, leadership, and belonging. Our team members’ responses reflect what it’s like to work here and the person-centered culture we’ve built.

Behind every year of this recognition is another year of team members choosing to give their best.

"Every dedicated team member who treats our residents like family. Every team member who helps their co-workers. Every resident who feels cared for by our team. Every moment where our team went beyond what was required because they love what they do and believe in our mission. That's what 17 years strong looks like."
Joan Wetzel, ERS vice president of human resources, reflected: "Longevity in workplace culture is rare—and it doesn't happen by accident. It happens because people feel seen, valued, and connected to something bigger than themselves. We've worked hard to build that, and we do not take it for granted."

The ERS Difference
Since 1951, Episcopal Retirement Services has worked to enrich the lives of older adults in a person-centered, innovative, and spiritually-based way. We own and operate three continuing care retirement communities—Marjorie P. Lee and Deupree House in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Episcopal Church Home in Louisville, Kentucky—as well as more than 30 rent-subsidized Affordable Living communities throughout the region. Most recently, ERS is expanding its reach into the middle market with the Preserve at Olive Branch, bringing that same mission to even more older adults.
