Saturday, September 6

5:30 PM: Dinner Train

There’s Cincinnati Dinner Train and then there’s Tom and Nancy McOwen’s Dinner Train!

We all know what it’s like to be on a Cincinnati Dinner Train (or maybe you’ve heard about it). But, have you ever been on Tom and Nancy’s rail car? They have a special rail car with a spectacular dome in the dining area. We’ll be able to step back into the simpler and less complex times of the late 1940s and watch beautiful scenery from a wonderful view, all while enjoying a delicious meal.

Monday, September 8

10:00-11:00 AM: Seamstress Alterations

At Deupree we always like to put our best foot forward and Cyndy, from Cyndy’s Alterations will be onsite for scheduled alterations and tailoring!

7:30 PM: Fun around the Piano… and Drums!

It’s about that time again! Jack Doll and Chris Coyle will be returning to lead us in some fun around the piano... and drums!

Residents are already familiar with Jack from his very engaging piano playing at our own Saturday night Bistro dinners—and he’s also pretty famous around town for his lively and often humorous organ playing at the Cincinnati Reds games for over 30 years. This evening, our community will be relaxing with friends for a totally unscripted bit of after-dinner fun.

3:00 PM: Dining Room Carpet and Voting Session

Our community is getting an update this year, and we’re down to the last phase of the planning!

The designer has selected 3 new options for residents to review, and we’ll be holding several brief meetings so that residents will be able to ask questions and vote for their favorite colors and design!

Thursday, September 11

11:30 AM: Cincinnati Reds vs St. Louis Cardinals

While our Reds may not be enjoying their greatest season, we still enjoy rooting for the home team! Join us at Great American for a good old fashioned game against the St. Louis Cardinals!

Sunday, September 14

12:45 PM: Rose Exhibit at Ault Park

We will be taking a trip to Ault Park for the Rose Exhibit coordinated by the Rose Association. This reception will include judging of gardens where we’ll have the opportunity to meet the gardeners, enjoy ice cream, shaved ice and jazz music at the pavilion.

Monday, September 15

6:00 PM: Oktoberfest at Mecklenburg Gardens

In honor of Oktoberfest, we will be dining at this popular local German restaurant. Guten appetite!

Tuesday, September 16

7:30 PM: Independent Transportation Network Talk

ITN Director, Nancy Schuster, will be joining us for an informative lecture on the senior services that ITN has been providing for ERH residents over the years.

Monday, September 22

7:30 PM: Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe

We welcome The Cincinnati Sinatra, Matt Snow, and his wife, Patti Warner. Matt has performed as a Frank Sinatra impersonator every month every since 1971, and Patti’s specialty is singing “Happy Birthday Mr. President”— acapella. Together they are sure to put on an amazing show. You are not going to want to miss this!

Wednesday, September 24

1:30 PM: Tour of Cincinnati’s Art Deco Architecture

Did you know that Cincinnati has some of the greatest examples of art deco architecture in the Midwest?

The fanciful geometric design of this architecture is really something to behold. And, today, Deupree house has the great pleasure of being treated to an expert review of spectacular building styles on a bus tour of the city. Buildings to tour will include the Union Terminal, the Coca Cola Building, The Cincinnati Bell Telephone Building, the Carew Tower Arcade, and the Netherland Plaza.

3:00 PM: The Scoop on Philanthropy

The Fund Development Team has the low down on t some special opportunities to support ERH that are coming up soon! Residents can stop by for the scoop and a scoop! We’ll be sharing the news on these financial opportunities and all your favorite Graeter’s flavors.

Tuesday, September 30

7:30 PM: Cincinnati Police Officer and K-9

One of our Cincinnati Police Officers and their K-9 partner will be joining us for a fun and informative lecture on how they interact. Residents will have the chance to see for themselves just why (and how) these talented canines have become such a major part of law enforcement.
