The inimitable social life of our Hyde Park community has long separated Deupree House residents from other Cincinnati seniors, and this May, we kicked things off with a bang!

5:30 PM: Kentucky Derby Party
Derby Day was a blast here at Deupree. There was fun, food, and plenty of cocktails as we watched the 140th Derby. Chet Cavaliere even took bets during the race!
Monday, May 5
3:45 PM: bus to Casa DeLorenzo
Tina DeLorenzo, hosted a special sale for Deupree House at her deluxe custom pillow studio. In case you haven’t heard of Tina’s one-of-a-kind pillows, she makes them all from the finest fabrics and trims. If you’re looking for a way to spice up your home, you can count on Tina! Once you own a Casa DeLorenzo original, you will appreciate and desire the attention to detail that is found in her pillows.

7:30 PM: The Cincinnati Reds with Michael Keating
On Tuesday, Deupree House was pleased to welcome retired Cincinnati Enquirer photographer and author of “Cincinnati Shadow and Light,” for an evening of exploration as we dove into Cincinnati's history. Keating shared number of fascinating stories behind his photos of the Reds and other fascinating images from his 25-year tenure with the Enquirer.
Wednesday, May 7
2:00 PM: Seeing Cincy’s Monument Sculptures
Have you ever noticed all of the beautiful sculptures here in the city? Not only are they all beautiful, some have a great deal of history behind them-- pieces by internationally famous sculptors and local talent that are well-worth seeking out. This afternoon, our very own chauffeur and Museum Center docent, Gary Morgenroth, took us around the city and gave us the inside story on nine of our historic sculptures!

4:30 PM: Art Gallery Opening
This evening residents will be able to stop by our art gallery to peruse the new exhibition by Jean Schreiner.
Tuesday, May 20
1:30 PM: Health Screening
Mercy Health’s mobile mammography van will be back at Deupree again this year. Residents can schedule a time to stop by the van, which will be parked at the end of the sidewalk past the lobby entrance of Deupree House II, for a screening anytime between the hours of 1:00 and 3:30 p.m.
2:00 PM: Shuttle to The Jack Wood Gallery
You may recall that The Jack Wood Gallery was once located in O’Bryonville. Although Jack Wood recently moved his shop to Over-the-Rhine, he is still selling his vintage posters that range from the World War to transportation and travel. Jack has traveled all over the world, including Europe and France, to get the best posters. You will truly be able to reflect back in time once you step inside.
Thursday, May 22
7:30 PM: Concert by Church of Redeemer Trio
Residents can head to the Events Center enjoy a wonderful concert by a trumpet player, a pianist, and a soprano singer, with an amazingly beautiful voice. You may even recognize the songstress and trumpet player who oftentimes play at the Church of the Redeemer, as a husband-wife duo.

11:00 AM: Memorial Day Brunch
In honor of Memorial Day, the Jubilee Quintet will be joining us for brunch in the courtyard, playing all our favorite patriotic tunes.
Wednesday, May 28
9:30 AM: Tour of Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum
Recognized as a national historic landmark, this Cincinnati gem is the second largest cemetary in the United States and home to some of the most gorgeous landscaping in the Greater Cincinnati area. A guide from the Spring Grove Heritage Foundation willl be taking us on a tram tour of the site, so there's no need to break out your walking shoes!
