Gary Lare brings laughter to senior living.Monday, August 5

7:30PM: Cincinnati Ventriloquist, Gary Lare

 

Come out to the Events Center for an evening of laughter with ventriloquist, Gary Lare. Gary has been a ventriloquist for 27 years, so you’re sure to get a good laugh. He’s bringing his full cast of zany characters including Dora Mae, Gus, Mildred, Ralph, Agnes, and a host of others!


Tuesday, August 6

10AM: Gardening with Mollie

The green-thumbs of senior living will be joining Mollie O’Neil, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden intern, for a summertime class full of gardening tips, flower arranging, and casual talk about our connection to nature. Flowers and containers will be provided, but you can bring your own container if you have a favorite. Head out to the courtyard for Mollie’s talk if the weather is pleasant, but we’ll press on in the Dining Room if things turn rainy.

Wednesday, August 7

11:45: Cincinnati Art Museum

We’re taking a trip down to see the much talked about Potthast exhibit! We’ll have a guided tour led by one of the very knowledgeable docents, so be prepared to do some walking.

Monday, August 12

5PM: Dinner at Nicola’s with Pete Juszczyk

Senior living gets the red carpet treatment this evening at one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. We’re joining our very own Dining Services Director, Pete Juszczyk, for dinner at Nicola’s!

Wednesday, August 14

5:45PM: Dinner and a Show

We’ll be heading to the Kenwood Country Club for the most recent event in the Xavier Swing Series with a special evening featuring the Nancy James Quartet. This evening will include a cash bar with plenty of cocktails, a sit-down dinner, and a concert.

Saturday, August 17

7PM: Lobsterfest

Join us for a seafood extravaganza in the Courtyard. The Lobsterfest will include dinner, with genuine Maine lobsters, cocktails, and a concert. We only have 50 seats available, so hurray and reserve your place now.

Thursday, August 22

7:30: Phoenix Woodwind Trio

We’re welcoming the Phoenix Woodwind Trio to Deupree House. Clarinetist Rita Cerimele, Bassoonist Cheryl Ober, and Flutist Leesa Alford have been playing great classical music together for 13 years. This evening the trio will be entertaining us in the Event Center with an evening of great classical music!

Sunday, August 25

5PM: Moerlein Lager House

Calling all beer lovers! Come join us for dinner and drinks at Moerlein Lager House, down on the Banks. Come down to the lager house to help us celebrate Cincinnati’s storied brewing tradition, and enjoy a selection of craft beers that are brewed in-house!

Friday, August 30

7:30PM: Reds History

If you’ve ever wanted to know more about the Cincinnati Reds, this event is for you. The team’s historian, Greg Rhodes, will be stopping by to tell us all there is to know about Cincinnati’s very own Reds! This presentation in the Events Center is not to be missed by baseball fans.

Weekly Events

1PM Tuesdays: Learning iPods, iPads, and iPhones with Dr. Giesel.

Our very own Dr. Roger Giesel will be teaching these classes to help you understand your new tech equipment and hopefully get more out of it. Come prepared with your equipment as you will be learning all kinds of things that can assist you in your everyday life! All classes held in the Conference Room.

7-10PM Fridays: Computer Assistance

Once a month, residents can sign up for our Friday evening computer tutorial. The schedule lists all the times left open, but the spots fill up fast.

5:30-7:15 Saturdays: Bistro

Our very own Bistro makes you feel as if you’ve just stepped into one of the nicest restaurants in the city! Just picture it— dimmed lights, black table cloths, and soft piano music playing in the background.
