At Marjorie P. Lee (MPL), we are very aware that different people have different care needs as they age. As such, we offer a range of senior living options aimed at providing the optimal environment to support the unique wants and needs of aging loved ones. We’re also committed to meeting the needs of our community members as those needs evolve, which is why we’re especially excited to announce the achievement of a major milestone in our $20 million, three-year master plan: the addition of three new long-term care households. Here’s a closer look at what to expect with these reimagined MPL communities.
For seniors with physical challenges…
If your aging loved one struggles with physical challenges, Berghamer House has been conceptualized with these needs in mind.
Staffed by an expert team of nurses, social service coordinators, life enrichment specialists and wellness professional, Berghamer House encompasses a broad range of care needs, including medication administration, restorative therapy, dressing and grooming, mobility assistance, incontinent care, toileting, bathing, housekeeping services, three meals a day either restaurant-style or in-room, and afternoon and evening snacks.
For the peace of mind of community members and their families, Berghamer House has a nurse practitioner on staff, and clinical care is overseen by a licensed nurse. Residents also benefit from our interdisciplinary care planning approach comprising nursing, social services, nutrition, and life enrichment. And while rooms in Berghamer House prioritize privacy, residents have access to all of the amenities of the community, including the lounges, library, activity rooms and guest dining; in-house satellite television; Wi-Fi; an emergency call system and room maintenance.
The ultimate goal at Berghamer House? To create an experience similar to that of our independent living community members so that every long-term care resident remains as physically, intellectually and vocational engaged as possible.
For seniors living with Alzheimer’s and dementia…
As Alzheimer’s and dementia continue to rise in the population, more families are finding themselves requiring around-the-clock nursing care for their aging loved ones. Amstein House seeks to meet this critical need.
Amstein House community members also gain access to a suite of individualized memory care therapies. Named Living Well Memory Support, this series of programming integrates art, music, advanced cognitive exercise, and physical well-being therapies into one comprehensive, holistic, and individualized approach. To make sure that best practices are in place, all Amstein House staff members are trained in the dementia education program, Positive Approach to Care.
From art and horticulture therapies to daily group walks and Java Music, Amstein House's Living Well Memory Support program is uniquely qualified to serve the challenging needs of people living with cognitive loss.
