2016 is shaping up to be a great year here at Deupree House. We kicked things off right in January, and things aren’t slowing down in February. Just take a look at a few highlights from this month’s social calendar.
Tuesday, February 2
5:00 PM: ERS Leadership Meet & Greet
The Board Members and Executive Team will be stopping by the Club Room for a cocktail hour meet and greet.
Thursday, February 4
7:30 PM: A Night of Cole Porter
Cole Porter was one of the greatest composers and lyricists of American Popular Music. Please join the Phil DeGreg Trio and vocalist, Lynne Scott, as they take a tour though some of his best songs presented with lively jazz arrangements.
Monday, February 8
6:00 PM: Dinner out at Boca
We will be dining at one of the most popular high-end Downtown Cincinnati restaurants. This well-loved local favorite is known for spectacular service and painstaking attention to detail.
Tuesday, February 9
4:30 PM: Mardi Gras Celebration
We’re celebrating Mardi Gras in true New Orleans style with The Bone Voyage Jazz Band again this year. This 6-piece band will surely have you on your feet dancing! King Cake and drinks will be served!
Wednesday, February 10
1:00 PM: Ash Wednesday Service
Our Ash Wednesday service was held by the Reverend Angelo Puopolo.
2:00 – 3:00 PM: Chair Volleyball
More fun than you can possibly stand — while seated! Come out and enjoy this fun-filled game that will give you lots of exercise. You’ll leave saying you’ve never had his much fun sitting down! We’ll also have a second game on February 24!
Sunday, February 14
7:00 PM: Gallery Opening and Movie
We’re getting in the Valentine’s Day spirit with an all-community art show! Share your favorite photos and art works of you and your loved ones — even if it’s you and your sweetie pet — we’ll display them all in our gallery of love for two weeks. Following the opening, we will show the movie, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” Popcorn and drinks will be served.

1:00 PM: “The Story of China Preview,” Part 2
For more than 20 years, historian and broadcaster Michael Wood has made compelling journeys into the past, which have brought history alive for a generation of readers and viewers. Michael introduces his new documentary series for PBS that tells the story of China from its ancient roots to the present day. He explains that if you want to know about China today, you need to understand its history and the events and ideas that have shaped its modern people.

7:30 PM: Rob and Linda Bartlett’s Hike
We’re excited to have Rob and Linda Bartlett share their one-of-a-kind, 33-day hike all the way from Southern France to Santiago de Compestella on the El Camino trail.
Wednesday, February 24
10:00 AM: Enameling with Jaime
After we had a great response to our earlier copper enameling demonstration, we are going to be turning this occasional creative opportunity into a monthly class going forward. Jaime Frechette is very excited to show everyone just how easy enameling is and some of the neat things you can make!
4:30 PM: Resident Appreciation by Home Care
The Home Care Assistance team, the skilled professionals who provide our Enriched Living program, would like to thank all of the Deupree residents with a wine reception!
