November was a big month for us here at Marjorie P. Lee! Take a look at a few of the highlights from our calendar.
Tuesday, November 3
We had a busy Election Day here at Marjorie P Lee! After a morning spent exercising our right to vote, we had a full schedule.
2:30 PM: Special Musical Guest
Talented duo Sincerely Yours—lyric soprano Pamela Cohen who first started singing at the age of 13 and pianist Annie Takeuchi Lanzone who has been playing since age 3—stopped by to entertain us.
5:00 PM: Dinner Out
We will depart from the Victoria Lobby for dinner at the cozy Parker’s Blue Ash Tavern—which boasts one of Cincinnati’s most spectacular wood-burning fireplaces!

1:00 PM: Writing Our Memoirs Group
At Marjorie P Lee, we believe that everyone has a story to tell, and our community’s Writing Our Memoirs group enjoys recording their life stories and sharing them with the group.

3:00 PM: Residents’ Meeting

Sunday, November 15
3:30 PM: Special Musical Guest
Join us this afternoon for a C.C. M. Student Artist Program in the Chapel. The College Conservatory of Music sends current students to refine their performance skill and in return we are able to enjoy a wonderful afternoon of music.
Monday, November 16
5:00 PM: Second Annual Wii Bowling Tournament
Do you like to bowl? We are looking for bowling pairs to join us in our second annual tournament. We have set up The Wii and the TV in the Fitness room to allow for practice time before the tournament. We will provide pizza, salad and beverages for the event. Spectators and Cheer Leaders are all welcome.
Wednesday, November 18
7:00 PM: Musical Guest
The Wild Honey Band returns to perform selections from their broad range of standards, blues, jazz, pop and originals in the Event Center. Dance or reminisce to familiar sounds and rhythms while you enjoy the band's performance of the tunes you know and love.
Thursday. November 19
10:00 AM: Affordable Living Tour
Today we will tour some of the ERH Affordable Living properties. We will start with the Elberon Community in Price Hill and Forest Square in Avondale, then drive by Parkway Place in Over the Rhine and Woodburn Place in Evanston. The tour will be guided by Maureen Gregory and a boxed lunch is included.
Friday, November 20
2:00 PM: Musical Performance
We have some wonderfully talented people living here at Marjorie P. Lee, and this afternoon we’ll have a chance to seem a few of them in action! Join us in the Event Center for a wonderful performance by the Marjorie P Lee chorus!
Monday, November 23
10:00 AM: Dancing with Parkinson’s
These classes focus on movements and principles common to dancers—focus, quality of movement, posture and self-expression—that become more difficult with the advancement of Parkinson’s. The class is open to seniors with any type of movement issues, and all students are welcome to participate at their own pace as all movements can be modified to be performed seated or holding on to a barre.
Tuesday, November 24
7:00 PM: ArtWorks Presentation
ArtWorks believes our city is a gallery! Join us for an hour long talk as we explore Cincinnati’s impressive collection of larger-than-life murals through beautiful photographs and great storytelling. We will share memorable anecdotes about each mural and give you the inside story on how these large-scale murals came to be. We will look at a number of ArtWorks most recognizable murals including John Ruthven’s Martha the Last Passenger Pigeon and Charley Harper’s Homecoming (Bluebirds) and leave time at the end for questions and answers.
Wednesday, November 25
5:00 PM: Dinner Out
We will depart for dinner at Primavista located in the Incline district of Price Hill. Primavista offers fine Italian Cuisine and some of the best views of downtown Cincinnati.
