Welcome to Mindful Monday! Today Shannon Braun, director of ERS' Center for Memory Support and Inclusion, tells us about cards that can be used to reduce uncomfortable situations at restaurants and other public places when we take a loved one who's living with dementia for a meal or activity.

The cards can be used to subtly tip off waitstaff and other people that your companion has dementia and you'd appreciate their support.

They also point out, "A little kindness and humor make a big difference."

It's one of Episcopal Retirement Services' efforts to make the world a more dementia-inclusive place.
