This commitment is evident across our affordable living communities in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. These aren’t just apartments; they’re vibrant, thriving communities where older adults can flourish.

The Manse in Walnut Hills, Ohio

As part of a collaboration between Episcopal Retirement Services and The Model Group, the historic Manse Hotel in Walnut Hills (Cincinnati), Ohio, was revitalized as The Manse, an affordable senior housing community following a $13.3 million renovation. Once a prominent destination for African-American travelers during segregation and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019, The Manse now houses 90 one-bedroom and efficiency apartments. Its ballroom has been restored as a community space, and an ArtWorks mural, “From Enslavement to Emancipation: Sky’s The Limit” by Cedric Michael Cox, graces the building’s Lincoln Avenue side. Residents also enjoy an on-site ability-centered fitness center and the spacious outdoor grounds they can enjoy and share with their neighbors. The renovation reflects ERS’ mission to preserve history while creating thriving, safe communities where seniors can live with dignity.
The Manse joins Walnut Court, another ERS community on Chapel Street, to contribute to the revitalization of Walnut Hills. With energy-efficient apartments, market-style finishes, and ERS’ 70+ years of expertise in senior services, these communities provide not only housing, but a supportive environment for older adults.
