Episcopal Retirement Services (ERS) is proud to announce that its Affordable Living team has earned the Certified Organization for Resident Engagement & Services (CORES) designation—a national recognition of excellence in resident services coordination for affordable rental housing.
The CORES Certification recognizes organizations that demonstrate a deep commitment residents’ health and wellbeing, delivering high-quality services and supports grounded in strong, data-driven operations and decision-making. This prestigious distinction was awarded to each of ERS’ 32 Affordable Living communities across the Tri-State.
“This certification affirms our profound commitment to a person-centered approach—where providing a safe, affordable home for older adults is only the beginning,” said Jimmy Wilson, vice president of Affordable Living. “Our team builds meaningful relationships and connects residents with the resources they need to live with dignity, independence, and purpose. This milestone achievement highlights the strength of our service coordination program, where dedicated staff ensure residents have access to support that enhances their daily lives. Our communities are more than housing—they are places where older adults can thrive.”
The certification process was rigorous and comprehensive, showcasing ERS’ strong infrastructure, skilled team, and collaborative partnerships that enhance its residents’ health and overall quality of life. It highlighted consistent best practices, a data-driven approach, and well-established community connections.
“The CORES certification isn’t just a badge of honor—it affirms that we are delivering the programs and services our residents genuinely need and value,” said Dunisha Johnson, Affordable Living director of resident support. “Through program evaluations, we listen to resident feedback and continuously strengthen the services that help them age in place, benefit from social engagement, and feel seen and supported.”
The designation was made possible by ERS team members across the Tri-State region, including Ohio communities in Amelia, Blanchester, Cambridge, Cincinnati, Delhi Township, New Carlisle, Springdale, Springfield, West Carrollton, West Liberty, and Wilmington; Kentucky communities like Florence and Lexington; and in Anderson, Indiana.
ERS is now among only 119 organizations out of thousands nationwide to achieve CORES Certification, further establishing its leadership in affordable housing for seniors.
