Boo! Here we are in October. The leaves are turning brilliant colors, there’s a chill in the air and there’s a whole bevy of activities that seniors at Louisville’s Episcopal Church Home (ECH) retirement community will enjoy.
Residents, family members and ECH staffers, be sure to stop by the Front Desk this month to guess how many candy corns are in the jar. The closest guesser will be announced Oct. 31 and will receive a $50 gift card!
Today, we wanted to take a moment and share with you all the fun goings-on we have planned for our residents, including Dining Services’ special, themed celebrations in the run-up to National Opera Week.

Halloween parade and costume contest. Each year, our residents, family members and staff members dress up in fun costumes and stage a parade through each of ECH’s neighborhoods. The parade will start in Gheens Towne Hall and the costume contest will immediately follow. Prizes awarded for best resident costume and best employee costume.
